What is Earth music ?
I don't know many groups who fit into this category. Kwartet Jorgi and Atman fit here perfectly. Earth (Age) Music is in fact Music which is so related to their environment in energy, inspiration, power, that it's music is almost the human expression of that nature. Of course in many instruments you can also almost hear the environment that has brought it forth. If you really dig into these instruments you might hear in their sound its natural story. With this mentality Didier Malherbe made an album with Loy Ehrlich called "Hadouk", but still that is no Earth Music, because it is only related to the instrument and its past and possibilities, but the connection with the immediate environment is still coincidental. Not so with Kwartet Jorgi, or with Earth Music. It is so strictly connected with it, that it becomes almost of a mystic nature.
How does Kwartet Jorgi sounds ?
The style goes from a very unique improvisation talent into acoustic acid folk territory but uses traditional tunes on the latest album as well, still in its unique way. They have an enormous amount of instruments.
